What it does
Toast has the catalogue, the orders and the payments. The obstacle is not technical: production credentials require a partner application, a signed agreement and a certification demo, through a documented eight-stage process, and it only ever serves restaurants.
So the order is decided by arithmetic rather than preference. Clover reaches restaurants, grocers and clinics through one build; Toast reaches restaurants after a longer wait.

Being straight with you
There is no partial version to ship in the meantime: Toast does not hand out production credentials before the certification demo, so there is no read-only catalogue connection to start with.
